WPLG-TV Reunion in Miami – 2010
Recently I was in Miami to attend some events and catch up with friends.

I have a close relationship with the city since I worked there at WPLG TV
in Miami, and spent years commuting back and forth with my husband
who worked and lived in Miami prior to Hurrican Katrina, which changed our
lives like so many others.

Getting back together with my WPLG colleagues was truly a blast from the past
and the turnout was PACKED! WPLG alumni decended upon Miami from all
over the United States.

It was a wonderful eveving catching up with my fellow journalist!

Liz’s Favorite Travel ideas for a Miami Visit:

What to do:

-Explore South Beach and browse the hundreds of boutique shops
-Walk the pedestrian mall Lincoln Road and people watch
-Shop till you drop at the Aventura Mall
-Visit one of my favorite Art Galleries on Lincoln Rd. (Britto)
-Wander through the up and coming Design District in Midtown Miami
-Sit on the beach, listen to the waves and chill with a Mojito!
-Go upscale at the outdoor designer mall Shops of Bal Harbour

People often ask me where to eat, so I will share a few favorites:

-My favorite South Beach Restaurant hands down, China Grill, where
the food is a fusion of Pan Asian, Caribbean and Latin. Sit at the bar
and you will experience the service of the BEST bartenders in Miami!
-Great breakfast place to people watch, The News Cafe or Van Dykes’s
-Cuban Food is to die for at Versailles
-Sushi at Sushi Samba
-You can’t go wrong for an inexpensive meal at Pollo Tropical
-Best lounges to visit China Grill, Skybar, The Delano
-One of our favorite restaurants Carpaccio’s in Bal Harbour
-Have a Cuban Coffee at any one of the tiny window outlets around town
-Have Sunday brunch at the Palms Hotel on Collins Avenue
-A “hidden gem” & one of our fav’s in Miami Beach – Prima Pasta
-Best Dim Sum, Tropical Chinese on Bird Rd.
-Want to try Trini roti or Goat curry? Tropical Feast 18400 NW 2nd Ave

Miami Trip Tip:

-Stay in or close to South Beach (SOBE), and don’t rent a car.
-Don’t forget the sunblock
-Experience the array of culture and food from Argentinian to Trinidadian
