Liz, I was quite surprise to learn that you were no longer with the channel 26 news team. I thought that you brought beauty and grace to that news channel. I tuned in quite often just to see your face and enjoy the professional way you brought the news to us. I hope you will stay in NOLA and connect with another news channel. When you do, please drop me a line.

      Luv you back,
      Cal

      Liz!

Words cannot describe how sad I am that you’re no longer with abc26. As someone mentioned, WGNO will not be the same without- therefore they’ve lost a viewer. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Are they out of their minds!? There was only one reason I watched ABC26 news, now there’s none. It’s great that you’re staying in New Orleans. I’ll be looking forward to see where you pop up next.

    • Judy Clymens Aug 7th 2009

I’ve just heard today regarding your ABC 26 departure. You are the only reason I watched ABC news. I’m very sorry to hear the news. I wish you absolutely nothing but the best in your future endeavors.
      Best of Luck!

    • fred Aug 9th 2009

There are very few times in our lives when a person of your talent and class comes to this city and truly embraces it. The only other person who comes to mind is Angela Hill. Liz you are a class act that GNO just threw away. Your work outside of the televison station has not gone unnoticed. I am saddend that you are gone from t.v. but rellish in the fact that we can hear you on the radio and be able to talk to you one on one. You are a bright light in these dim times. One day I would love to talk with you. Keep up the good work

grats on your new show on WGSO Saturdays, miss you on ABC26

    • Lori Toups Aug 11th 2009

Hi Liz! It’s one of your former producers, Lori (Domingue). I’m a regular viewer of the old station. I like keeping up with you guys! It just so happened I was flipping channels last week, when I caught the end of the newscast and heard you say it was your last show. I was certainly shocked! I thought maybe you were leaving on your own accord, but I just read the Picayune article (as well as the comments below it). That is shocking as well! No doubt that your future will be bright! I certainly learned alot from you and the gang while I was there, and I’ve treasured that. ALL THE BEST!

      Lori

    • Jay Lambert Aug 12th 2009

I know some difference makers in Lacombe you might be interested in having on your radio show in the future. be listening to your new show on Saturdays, Still can’t understand why ABC26 let you go, you have much more style and substance than Kimmy @ Fox 8 and or Steph Herbert @ #6 combined. Hi Liz!

I just recently found out about you leaving WGNO. My jaw hit the floor when I heard. Honestly, since the “new management” came in, I knew I would not be shocked that many people who dedicated their lives to that station was going to leave very abruptly.

That’s why the “new management” made me the first guinea pig in his new experiement. I knew too much about him, since I worked for him prior my stint at WGNO and left my previous station working there for almost four years to go to WGNO mostly because of him.

That’s why my departure was so quick at WGNO as well. He didn’t have time to even get warm in his office chair before he was already plotting to have me out the front door.

It truly sickens me of hearing how many heads have rolled since he began his dictatorship.

I would love to tell you more about it on here, but I don’t want that incompetent excuse for a manager to try to sue for libel, because he is the type to actually do it.

Please keep in touch with me, I can be easily found on Facebook, or shoot me an E-mail.

Once again Liz, I am stunned and very upset what happened to you. Thank you so much for being so kind to me in the time I was working at WGNO. The station is deeply in debt not having the professionalism, honesty, and class that you brought to it.

I will try to catch you on WGSO when I can, since now I am back in school getting certified in secondary English education.

Wow it’s been four years since all of the madness of katrina , it has been about long since I have seen you and most people from those weeks that followed the storm. sorry to find out what happened to you at wgno ,but I think a person with your skills will shine as always I will try to catch your radio show. as always peace.(Im the first responder that was @ 26 and helped get you all to baton rouge)

      Hi Liz!

I just googled to find out what happened @ channel 26 concerning Liz. Too bad for Channel 26,…I don’t think I’m alone in saying that you are missed in the New Orleans TV news market, perhaps another network will step to the plate and give you another shot, because you are much loved in New Orleans! I won’t watch 26 news anymore until and unless they bring you back Liz! I do hope and pray that better days lie ahead for you Ms. Reyes. God Bless!

    • Kabrina Oct 12th 2009

I miss watching you on channel 26. Your sweet, warm and lively personality was very refreshing. Hope to see you reporting news again.

    • Mark & Karen Oct 21st 2009

We’re sitting here watching the news and I asked Mark if he had seen Liz. Astonished, he said not in a couple of weeks. I figured I just hadn’t seen you because, I don’t get much TV time……so I googled, “Where is Liz Reyes from channel 26 in New Orleans”. I’m shocked at the news.

I have come to learn that when things like this happen, it’s only a “Re-Direction”. Congratulations on the radio program.

P.S. You still have the BEST MAKEUP IN TELEVISION!!!!!!

    • Fred Nov 5th 2009

      Liz,
I am so sorry that you are no longer with channel 26. They say when one door closes, another one opens and I am sure many doors will open to you. Best wishes in all you do in the future. I look forward to seeing you broadcast somewhere else.

    • Richard Hunter Nov 11th 2009

Much success in your future endeavors…
I have faith that some network will honor your merits & you’ll be back on the air.
GOD bless & keep the faith!

    • Hannah May 5th 2010

Love the new Web layout! :)

    • Ken Bloxson May 25th 2010

Good grief, Elizabeth! I didn’t believe it when Katz told me you left 26! I thought you’d be the Angela Hill of WGNO and stick there for a few more years at least. I can’t imagine your not being a reporter/anchor. Heck, I remember when you first did your first anchor interview shots at 26, so I have a time trying to see you as anything but that! But I’m sure you’re enjoying what you’re doing now. Plus, your website is pretty deep. Anyway, write me back if you have an opportunity. Would love to pick your brain and catch-up a bit. Peace, Elizabeth!!
